David Le serves as Chief Technology Officer for Beacon Pointe and is responsible for the firm’s technology strategy and architecture, including the development of shared application platforms and services used by all teams throughout the company. David has more than 15 years of experience in technology, with expertise in building and developing enterprise systems. Prior to joining Beacon Pointe, he worked at the Irvine Ranch Water District, where he spent 7 years in various technical and management roles overseeing their Enterprise Resource & Planning (ERP) and Geographic Information System (GIS) systems. In 2021, David was named Chief Technology Officer of the Year for individual RIA firm leaders by Wealthmanagement.com. Concurrent to his role, David is also a Wealth Advisor in Beacon Pointe’s Private Client Services Group and is dedicated to providing his clients with individually tailored solutions and strives to achieve the optimal alignment between their wealth, values and goals. He holds the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation. David earned his Masters in Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine and holds a Bachelors of Arts in Business Economics from the University of California, Riverside. He has been a guest lecturer at The Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine. In his free time, David enjoys trying new types of food, perfecting his cooking skills and cycling.

David joined Fidelity Investments in 2018. He is a Vice President of the Enterprise Cybersecurity (ECS) team, leading Client Assurance in the Information Security Office. He is responsible for providing cybersecurity, technology risk, and data privacy assurances to clients across several business units to demonstrate to those clients that Fidelity has an industry-leading cybersecurity program. Additionally, David has been a frequent speaker at Fidelity and client-sponsored events on topics related to cybersecurity fraud, trends, and investigations, and enjoys speaking with clients to help them better understand the current cyber threat landscape.

Before moving to ECS, David was a Director in Fidelity’s Risk Group and Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), assigned to the Cyber Investigations team responsible for detecting, preventing and investigating cyber incidents and fraud, related to client accounts. As manager of FIU’s Client Incident Response Program, he guided efforts to use internal and external cyber intelligence to correlate cybersecurity incidents, occurring outside of Fidelity with clients, ultimately alerting them to the potential risk and providing related technical advice when desired.

Prior to Fidelity, David was Vice President of Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) in Stroz Friedberg’s (Aon Cyber Solutions) Boston and Washington DC offices. David managed DFIR Lab personnel and operations in those offices, providing group oversight and engaging with clients on criminal and civil matters involving the investigation of cyber incidents and technical response.

David also completed a twenty-four-year career with the Massachusetts State Police (MSP), most recently as the Executive Officer in the agency’s Cyber Crimes Unit. During his career in law enforcement, he spent twenty years in the Division of Investigative Services primarily focused on the areas of cyber investigations, digital forensics, and technical incident management, supporting all types of criminal and civil investigations. While assigned to the MSP-Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, he founded the office’s Digital Forensics Section and was responsible for directing all personnel and operations regarding technical investigations, the search and seizure of digital evidence, and digital forensic analysis.
